Vipshop’s net revenue in the third quarter was 17.8 billion yuan, making profits for 24 consecutive quarters

Vipshop disclosed its unaudited financial report for the third quarter of 2018 in the early morning of the 15th. The company’s net revenue for the quarter was 17.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 16.4%, and it has been profitable for 24 consecutive quarters. According to non-GAAP, Vipshop's net profit attributable to shareholders was 500.8 million yuan. Vipshop's strategic cooperation with Tencent and JD.com has achieved remarkable results in attracting new customers.
The data shows that WeChat and JD.com have made significant value contributions in terms of customer data and brand cooperation. Among them, the WeChat ecology daily average contributed 22% of the new customers of Vipshop, and the number of new customers of WeChat Wallet accounted for 45% of the WeChat account. The average daily UV in October increased three times compared with the data at the beginning of the year. In addition, the cumulative number of visitors to the Vipshop Mini Program has exceeded 140 million.
Thanks to the return of the "special sale" strategy and the solid advantages of self-operated apparel and wear categories, the number of orders from Vipshop reached 95.7 million in the quarter, a year-on-year increase of 29%. The number of active users has increased by 11%, the purchasing power of customer groups, user stickiness and other data have steadily increased, the user repurchase rate has reached 85%, and the proportion of repurchase customer orders has reached 96%. As of September 30, the number of super VIP members of Vipshop reached 2.3 million, a month-on-month increase of 21%.
In the past Double Eleven, Vipshop’s 24-hour order volume exceeded 10 million orders. During the entire Vipshop 11.11 promotion period (November 1st to November 11th), the transaction volume (GMV) was 10.2 billion, A year-on-year increase of 27%; the sales contribution rate of post-90s users accounted for nearly 30%.
In terms of logistics, in the third quarter of 2018, Vipshop increased its storage area by about 40,000 square meters. As of September 30, the total storage area of Vipshop reached 2.9 million square meters.
Vipshop expects that revenue in the fourth quarter will range from 26.1 billion to 27.3 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 8% to 13%. It is reported that the overall cooperation between Vipshop and Tencent will be more abundant in the future, and Tencent’s social functions such as service notifications, official accounts, social sharing, WeChat payment, and coupon distribution will be fully utilized; and the mini-programs will be further developed to shorten the consumption path.
